Celebrating its twentieth year, the Newport Women’s Forum aimed to empower and support women by providing personal development funding.
Women aged 18 and over who live in Newport had an opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £1000. The applicant needed to demonstrate that the money will make a significant difference. Applications were welcome from individuals or groups of women.
The awards took place in Barnabas Art house, Newport on Tuesday 21st of July. One of the winners this year is Catherine Cains, an arm knitter who makes amazing scarves and owns Twisted Strings.
She was awarded £250 to pay for a stand at Wonderwool Wales 2016.
This warm event was filled with emotions, joy and music. Newport-based women group called Zim Voices entertained the viewers with their beautiful music and sang a few touching songs.
